Use of our websites - Cookies & Sessions
The websites of Assessors Schneider use cookies. Cookies are text files that are filed and stored on a computer system via an Internet browser.
Numerous websites and servers use cookies. Many cookies contain a so-called cookie ID. A cookie ID is the unique signal of a cookie. It consists of a sequence of characters by which websites and servers can be assigned to the actual internet browser on which the cookie is stored. This enables websites and servers to differentiate between the individual browser of the person concerned and other internet browsers which contain other cookies. A particular internet browser can be recognized and identified by the unique cookie ID.
By employing cookies we can provide you with a service that is still more user friendly than would have been possible without the cookie setting.
By means of a cookie, the information and offers on our website can be improved in the user's best interest. As already mentioned, cookies allow us to recognize the users of our website. The purpose of such recognition is to make it easier for users to use our website. We call this recognition "sessions".
At any time you can prevent cookies from being installed by our website by means of the appropriate setting of the internet browser used, and thus permanently disable the setting of cookies. Moreover, cookies that have already been set can be erased at any time via an internet browser or other software program. This is possible in all regular internet browsers. If the person concerned disables the setting of cookies in the internet browser used, under certain circumstances some functions of our website may not be completely usable.
Purpose of the processing
We process the cookie IDs for the sole purpose of presenting our websites. As legal basis we refer thereby to Article 6. paragraph 1 letter f GDPR. This means we have a justifiable interest in making our website available to you in a form that offers you a pleasant user experience and that technically functions perfectly.
Portability of your data to third parties
The cookie IDs are stored in the data base of our website system. The data base is operated by our hosting provider. So these data are transmitted to the hosting provider.
There is no transmission of your data beyond this, neither to third parties nor to third countries or international organizations.
Duration of storage
We store the data only for fulfilment of the purpose.
Why do we need your data?
Capturing these data is necessary to enable us to present our website to you in a pleasant, technically perfect form. By visiting our website you freely make these data available to us.
Automated decision making and profiling
In processing your data we do not employ any automated decision-making or profiling.
Use of our website – General information – Server log files
Each time you or an automated system calls the website of Assessors Schneider it records a range of general data and information. These general data and information are stored in the server's log files, and may include the following:
- types and versions of browser
- the operating system used by the system making access
- the website, from which an accessing system reaches our website (so-called "referrer")
- the subsites which are visited on our website through an accessing system
- the time and date of access to the website
- an internet protocol address (IP address)
- the internet service provider of the accessing system
- and various similar data and information that serve to defend against attacks on our information technology systems
With this processing we do not draw any conclusions about you. The server log files are stored separately from all other data in a secure area of the server.
Purpose of processing
We require this information in order to
- correctly deliver the contents of our website
- ensure the permanent operability of our information technology systems and of the technology of our website
- to provide criminal prosecuting authorities with the information required to pursue criminal prosecution in the event of a cyber attack
Thus we refer for the legal basis of the processing to Art. 6 paragraph 1 letter f GDPR, as we have a justifiable interest in the above stated purpose of the processing. At the same time, we refer for legal basis to Art. 7 paragraph 1 letter c, should a cyber attack occur, since we then have a duty to provide this information to enable criminal prosecution to be pursued.
Portability of your data to third parties
The data are stored separately from all other data in a secure area of the server. They are recorded by the hosting provider. Therefore these data are transmitted to the hosting provider.
There is no transmission of your data beyond this, neither to third parties nor to third countries or international organizations.
Duration of storage
The recorded data will be erased after six months at the latest.
Why do we require your data?
